The Port Autonome de Dakar and Senegalese Customs are joining forces to accelerate the transformation of the port hub, with concrete measures already underway.

A strategic collaboration is emerging between the Port Autonome de Dakar (PAD) and the Customs Administration. The goal is to modernize the Senegalese port sector. During a recent meeting, the directors general of the two institutions, Mr. Waly Diouf BODIANG (PAD) and Mr. Babacar NBAYE (Customs), agreed to strengthen their partnership to improve the port's operational efficiency and competitiveness.

Key measures include the creation of a joint committee to oversee the boarding of regular shipping lines, thereby reducing logistical disruptions. A memorandum of understanding will also be signed to pool resources and optimize costs, while integration visits to the future Ndayane site will enable better team coordination.

“By aligning our strategies, we are creating a resilient and attractive port ecosystem for investors » said Mr. BODIANG. These initiatives are part of #VisionSenegal2050, aimed at making the PAD a regional hub of reference, capable of responding to the challenges of globalization.

With these advances, Senegal confirms its commitment to transforming its port infrastructure into drivers of economic growth. This momentum should strengthen the country's position as a hub for maritime trade in West Africa.
