Scan Global Logistics expands to Egypt to strengthen its regional presence

Danish group Scan Global Logistics continues its geographical expansion with the opening of an office in Cairo. This location marks a key step in its consolidation strategy in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT) region, where it aims to strengthen its influence and proximity to industry players.

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has opened a new office in Egypt, continuing its expansion momentum in the MENAT region. Already present in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, The logistics group now wants to rely on the Egyptian market to expand its network and develop its services.

Cairo is now home to the local headquarters, but other locations are planned within the next 12 months, according to company officials.

The management of SGL Egypt has been entrusted to Ahmed Habib, a seasoned professional with over twenty years of experience in logistics, including at Damco, Maersk and FedEx. For Allan Melgaard, Global CEO of Scan Global Logistics, This opening illustrates the group's vision: consolidate its presence in a region with high potential, by offering innovative services and integrated solutions to support the growth of trade.

The Egyptian market, estimated at nearly 110 billion Egyptian pounds by 2023, is increasingly attracting international logistics players. According to SGL, economic reforms, public investment in infrastructure, and trade facilitation efforts are making Egypt an emerging regional logistics hub.

This establishment also follows the group's continued global expansion, following its recent openings in India and its strategic acquisitions in Brazil, Italy and Canada.
