The PAD Foundation and SODAGRI formalized their collaboration on May 20, 2025, to boost agriculture in the regions of Ziguinchor, Sédhiou, and Kolda.

This new partnership has several objectives. One of the main ones is to support food sovereignty through support for nine (9) horticultural farms. In addition, it supports rural development by promoting the empowerment of women and job creation, and the promotion of territorial equity.

The economic model is inspired by the project "GIE Cuvette", led by the PAD Foundation in northern Senegal, which produced 3.770 tonnes of rice and created 1.800 jobs in 2024.

According to Mr. Waly Diouf BODIANG, President of the PAD Foundation, this agreement is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the PAD's CSR approach. It prioritizes sustainable agricultural practices and responsible management of inputs and waste. "This project illustrates our commitment to inclusive and environmentally friendly agriculture," he said.

The expected benefits are significant: more than 10.000 tons of harvested crops, the creation of more than 4.000 jobs, and the improvement of agricultural infrastructure. The Director General of SODAGRI welcomed this initiative, thanking the Port Autonome de Dakar and its PAD Foundation for their commitment to supporting rural stakeholders.

This partnership marks a new milestone in sustainable agricultural development in Senegal. This partnership aims to strengthen food sovereignty, empower women, and create jobs, while adopting a CSR and sustainability approach.
