Mauritania has introduced a three-month multiple-entry visa for Moroccan professional drivers. The aim is to boost cross-border trade and simplify administrative formalities.

The Mauritanian authorities have decided to grant a multiple-entry visa to Moroccan road drivers. This three-month visa is valid for international transport professionals, particularly those traveling between the two countries as well as West African and Sahel countries transiting through Mauritanian territory. In a statement, the Moroccan embassy in Mauritania confirmed that the decision was taken after studying the applications submitted via the consular services.

Before this measure, each crossing required the presentation of a separate visa, a cumbersome procedure that caused some delays and additional costs for carriers. The issuance of this multiple-entry visa will simplify administrative formalities and lead to better logistical organization for hundreds of trucks that travel these corridors every day.

This measure comes in a particular context marked by the strengthening of trade between Morocco and the countries of the Sahel and West Africa. According to logistics experts, this initiative should considerably reduce the travel time. This is profitable for carriers who will increase competitiveness.

The Embassy of the Kingdom in Nouakchott encourages professional drivers and international transport company managers to take advantage of this opportunity by making the request on the indicated platform. The Embassy also expressed its satisfaction with the Mauritanian authorities whose responsiveness and cooperation have made it possible to establish this beneficial change for the entire sector.
