On April 17, 2025, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Trade and Industry, officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art logistics warehouse in Anyama, PK24. Built by the e-commerce platform Jumia Côte d'Ivoire, this warehouse covers an area of 36000 m², including 25000 m² of covered space, with a storage capacity of more than 1,8 million products. It is now one of the largest logistics centers in the country. Designed to improve supply chain performance, it will accelerate delivery times in more than 120 Ivorian cities at reduced costs.
Caroline Petit, Managing Director of Jumia Côte d'Ivoire, welcomed the transformative impact of the project: “ By consolidating our operations, we are laying the foundation for greater efficiency and a stronger customer experience. This infrastructure will support our ambition to offer a wider selection of products and faster deliveries across the country."
The warehouse will also help optimize inventory management, strengthen package traceability and streamline last-mile logistics, often considered the weak link in e-commerce on the continent.
During the ceremony, attended by private sector players and government representatives, Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba welcomed a strategic investment "of several hundred million FCFA", highlighting its role in the creation of direct and indirect jobs.
He also emphasized the positive impact on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which will benefit from better access to digital distribution. For the minister, the development of e-commerce must be governed by a solid and modern regulatory framework.
With this in mind, the government is currently working on developing a legal framework to secure online transactions, protect consumers, and support all stakeholders in the sector. Beyond the economic aspect, the new Anyama site also stands out for its modern facilities.
Dr. Diarrassouba reaffirmed the State's desire to support all innovative initiatives that contribute to building a high-performance, inclusive commercial ecosystem resolutely focused on the digital future of Côte d'Ivoire.
