The Executive Chairman of Kinetiko Energy said that “Gas sales under the joint venture will significantly assist KKO’s objective of converting its established contingent gas resources of 4,9 trillion cubic feet (TcF) into first reserves.”
One of its subsidiaries, Fro Energy Pty Ltd, has entered into a 50/50 joint venture (JV) agreement with Vutomi Energy Pty Ltd for the generation and sale of electrical energy to third party private sector buyers.
The joint venture which was intended to be sold into the private sector high voltage grid will initially use a one megawatt (MW) gas reticulation engine supplied by Vutomi to utilise gas from Afro Energy's wells.
The deal comes as the company transitions from explorer to gas producer and represents the company's first offtake from its South African project.
The term sheet will be formalised as a joint venture once terms and conditions are met as it also saw shares rise by more than 11 per cent to A$0,10.
“The establishment of the joint venture with Vutomi Energy is an important development for Kinetiko in its transition from a gas explorer to a gas producer,” said Kinetiko Executive Chairman Adam Sierakowski.
He adds that "this joint venture illustrates the potential of how the company can expand commercial gas production to a variety of national customers."
