On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Yankoba Diémé, received a delegation from Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The goal: to discuss a possible partnership between Senegal and the American aeronautics giant, with the ambition of getting Air Senegal off the ground.

The Senegalese government and Boeing have begun discussions to establish a strategic partnership to support the development of Air Senegal. During a meeting with Minister Yankoba Diémé, Boeing representatives expressed their interest in supporting the national airline's growth. They wish to support Air Senegal in its ambition to become a major player in air transport in Africa and beyond.

This partnership is expected to be based on several key pillars. This will include training the airline's personnel—pilots, mechanics, and other technicians—to enhance their skills. Boeing also plans to supply new, modern aircraft and participate in fleet maintenance. These joint efforts should enable Air Senegal to expand its destination network and improve the quality of its services.

For Minister Yankoba Diémé, this initiative is part of the new authorities' desire to strengthen strategic infrastructure in the aviation sector. He emphasized the importance of further connecting Senegal to the rest of the world in order to stimulate economic, tourism, and human exchanges.

This partnership, if realized, would mark an important milestone for Air Senegal. It would enable the company to grow, create skilled jobs, and actively contribute to the national economy, while improving the mobility of Senegalese people around the world.
