Le puits SD-5X (SDX : 36,85% WI) a été foré le 4 mars et a atteint le TD à 7 855ft MD le 16 mars, dans le respect des délais et du budget. La principale cible basale de Kafr El Sheikh a été rencontrée à 6 973ft MD et a découvert 55,5ft de sable gazeux payant net avec une porosité moyenne de 26,3%, ce qui correspond aux estimations faites avant le forage.
SD-5X va maintenant être bouclé, testé et raccordé au CPF via la conduite d’écoulement existante de SD-4X. On estime que le puits sera mis en production en juin 2022. en temps voulu, une annonce concernant les résultats des tests de SD-5X sera faite.
Après le bouclage de SD-5X, la plate-forme va se tourner vers le deuxième puits de la campagne de trois puits, SD-12-East, sur le champ Sobhi (forage prévu à la mi-avril). Le troisième puits de la campagne sera le MA-1X, qui ciblera la zone d’intérêt Mohsen (dont le forage est prévu entre la mi et la fin mai).
« Je suis très heureux d’annoncer le succès du premier puits de la campagne de forage Disouq Sud 2022, et que le puits SD-5X devrait contribuer à la production d’ici juin 2022. Nos prévisions de production publiées plus tôt dans l’année ne reflétaient pas le succès de ce puits et, par conséquent, nous fournirons des prévisions actualisées une fois que le puits sera connecté et produira » a commenté Mark Reid, PDG de SDX .
Il a déclaré que « la campagne de trois puits vise à exploiter davantage le potentiel que nous voyons dans la région de Disouq Sud. « Je suis impatient d’informer le marché des résultats de l’essai du puits SD-5X et de la progression de la campagne 2022 » a-t-il conclu.
