Deutsche Bahn s’est dit prêt à “considérablement” accélérer les exportations de céréales ukrainiennes via son réseau ferroviaire, alors que des millions de tonnes de blés sont encore bloqués dans les ports ukrainiens.
Quelque 20 millions de tonnes de céréales sont bloquées dans des silos ukrainiens, en particulier à Odessa, ne pouvant pas être exportées par la mer en raison de la guerre.
L’alternative du rail ne permet pour l’instant que de transporter des volumes limités : “On parvient désormais à faire sortir une à deux millions de tonnes d’Ukraine par voie terrestre chaque mois”, selon Sigrid Nikutta, directrice de DB Cargo, la division fret de l’opérateur ferroviaire allemand, citant des chiffres du gouvernement ukrainien.
Deutsche Bahn, en coopération avec ses homologues européens, a organisé un pont ferroviaire permettant de transporter les céréales.
Les marchandises sont ensuite envoyées vers des ports du nord de l’Europe, en “Pologne, aux Pays-Bas et en Allemagne”, pour être exportées par la mer, a expliqué Sigrid Nikutta.
