Ceva Logistics vient d’annoncer l’acquisition d’une Spedag Interfreight, une entreprise spécialisée dans le transport et la logistique sur l’Afrique de l’Est.
Le 12 juillet, Ceva Logistics a annoncé l’acquisition Spedag Interfreight, l’entité transport et logistique du groupe M+R Spedag, un expert du transport international de fret opérationnel dans plusieurs pays d’Afrique de l’Est.
“Avec l’ajout de Spedag Interfreight en Afrique de l’Est, nous continuons à mettre en œuvre des initiatives régionales clés dans notre plan de croissance stratégique.
Cette acquisition s’inscrit parfaitement dans la continuité de notre activité de croissance organique et de fusions-acquisitions en Afrique au cours des deux dernières années, ainsi que des récentes acquisitions d’Ingram Micro CLS et de Colis Privé“, rappelle Mathieu Friedberg, directeur général de Ceva Logistics.
Un positionnement stratégique
L’entreprise, dont le siège est situé en Suisse, compte 400 employés sur 24 sites au Kenya, en Ouganda, en Tanzanie, au Rwanda et au Soudan du Sud. Avec ce rachat, Ceva Logistics revendique désormais une présence dans 44 pays en Afrique.
“Spedag Interfreight ouvrira de nouvelles opportunités au potentiel de croissance de l’Afrique de l’Est. Par exemple, le Kenya agit comme une porte d’entrée maritime clé pour l’Afrique de l’Est. Grâce à un récent projet d’expansion et de modernisation, le port de Mombasa devrait transporter plus de 1,7 million d’EVP en 2023.
La Kenya Ports Authority prévoit que le port traitera 47 millions de tonnes de fret d’ici 2032, soit une augmentation de 57 % par rapport aux niveaux actuels”, indique Ceva qui vise à faire du marché africain “une part significative de son chiffre d’affaires en 2025”.
