La société britannique BP a confirmé, aujourd’hui, le concept de développement de la deuxième phase du projet gazier Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA), situé dans les eaux profondes, à cheval entre la Mauritanie et le Sénégal.
BP a indiqué, dans un communiqué de presse que « le partenariat – composé de bp, PETROSEN, la Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures (SMH) et Kosmos Energy – évaluera une plateforme gravitaire (GBS) comme base pour la phase 2 du projet d’expansion de GTA (GTA2) avec une capacité totale comprise entre 2,5 et 3 millions de tonnes par an ».
La nouvelle conception comprendra de nouveaux puits et équipements sous-marins, qui s’intégreront aux infrastructures installées dans le champ pour l’exploitation de première phase du projet.
Pour rappel, la première phase du projet, prévue à la fin de cette année, devrait produire environ 2,3 millions de tonnes de GNL.
